Stop to rest 1-2 minutes between each set of repetitions, unless indicated otherwise by your rehab specialist.
Pace yourself when exercising. Don’t over do it!
Stop exercising if you feel dizzy, light-headed or have shortness of breath.
Do not resume these exercises before talking with your physician.
You can continue your rehab program at home using these upper
body conditioning exercises. Depending on the goals determined by your
occupational therapist or physical therapist, these exercises are designed to
improve upper body range of motion, muscle strength, and endurance so you can
be more functional in your Activities of Daily Living. You can perform these
exercises safely using a Thera-P Bar (as shown in the photos). This
lightweight exercise bar provides balanced resistance for strength and
endurance training the upper body. Your medical professional can help you
choose the most appropriate weight and exercises for your rehabilitation needs.
If you are not working with a therapist, please consult with your physician
before beginning this or any exercise program.
