You should begin your exercise program with the correct weight. Choose the Thera-P Bar that is light enough to allow for good form and posture, but heavy enough to tax your muscles. At first, shoulder and upper back exercises may be more difficult. These muscles are not repetitively challenged in daily activities. To prevent injury and soreness, start slowly and work at your own pace. If you should fatigue easily during any exercise, then decrease the repetitions (reps). Your goal should be three sets of 8-12 reps per exercise. Then gradually increase to three sets of 15 reps. Develop a consistent exercise program with the help of a therapist or personal trainer. As you build stronger muscles, you may want to use a heavier Thera-P Bar. Before starting any exercise program, please consult your physician.
